Yogesh Koirala (Yogi)

Yogesh Koirala (Yogi) , Ph.D.

Director of Operation

Yogi is a dedicated practitioner of “Vipassana,” which means “to see things as they are.” This technique focuses on the deep interconnection between the mind and body, which can be experienced directly through disciplined attention to the physical sensations within the body. These sensations form the essence of life and continuously condition our minds.

Yogi came to the United States from Nepal during his late teens to study at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, and later moved around the United States, facing and embracing life’s challenges and opportunities. He completed his Bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and earned his Master’s and Ph.D. from the Colorado School of Mines.

Drawing from his experiences as a lecturer and postdoctoral research associate at Texas A&M University, as well as his 6-plus years of work as an engineer, and may real life lessons, he will be actively involved in supporting the mental health clinic’s operation and designing programs and courses that allow all of us to directly experience the phenomena of mind and body. His next goal is to create programs for kids to help them experience the mind through various fun tasks which he believes will help kids in long run and prevent mental health related issues.

If you are at the clinic and see him around, feel free to say hello!!
